About snapbackrap

I'm a communication/sports journalism student at Springfield College, MA. My heart lies in underground hip-hop. Music has always been an addiction of mine so to share it with other people would be great.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis- The Heist (album)

I can’t tell you how real this music is. It is a breath of fresh air to a fan who has been craving something from Hip Hop that is worth actually listening to. Macklemore is original, true and speaks his mind. He talks about today and everything that we experience as average humans on a regular basis. It’s not your get money bull shit or something about racks. Ryan Lewis brings the same alternative and different production to keep pace with Macklemore lyrically. The sound of horns in Hip Hop will never get old. I ask you to give this album time and purchase it off itunes or in a store because the hard copy is a throwback thing to do. Enjoy! #snapbackin

Wax Doin It Right!

To my underground hip hop fans who like rooting for the little guy, I got just the right artist for you. His name is Wax, Wax doesn’t meet your normal standard of rapper today but he brings a solid hysterically honest perception to the game. I recently heard a song called “I Ain’t a Real Man” the song insisted that his line of work as a rapper compares nothing to average man in the military or labor force. Wax spits and is funky to listen to. I highly recommend checking out his Rosanna video and laughing at the humor behind the whole song. Wax has some impressive freestyles as well. He’s probably the most underrated in the game. But his talent is undeniable. He has a few itunes singles but there are mixtapes that exist that you can pick up for free. His Maryland style is fresh and I can’t help but get on board with this so check him out.

A1 – Now You Do (Prod. Flosstradamus)

I heard this original beat a while back because I’m a huge…I mean HUGE! Flosstradamus fan. If you like hard hitting Trap/DJ music these are your boys. I was intrigued when I saw them post this sweet track through their twitter. A1 manages to murder this beat…I mean read it it’s rights and then buried it six feet down. I hadn’t heard of him until now and I feel like that’s how it was, until now. He’s got a ill flow and spits some hard shit, but this beat just kicks. Turn up the BASS! #snapbacknation

Yonas- The Transition

Yonas does it again, the man can make music and his incredible lyricism does nothing but show that NYC is all about good hip hop. It’s got his youtube sensation hit on it Pumped Up Kicks and it’s got plenty of other jams/freestyles/and collabs. Working with phenomenal artists like Logic and Brother Ali. There is no reason that this shouldn’t be one of the fastest and highest rated downloaded mixtapes this summer. I can’t say enough about Yonas and his true talent. Don’t believe me listen yourself and download here.

Luke Christopher- TMRW TMRW Intro & Outro

This is a little bit of a teaser to a project that I’m super excited about. Luke Christopher implements a lot of the things rap is missing today like passion, lyricism and old school beats. I can’t wait for this project to drop in July. All the raw footage in this shows his drive passion and just a guy chasing his dream, what’s not to like? I’m telling you right now. Luke Christopher is on the rise…Get on the bandwagon now.

Asher Roth- Good Morning View

Asher Roth comes out with another great summer jam. I think the thing that gets me with Asher is he stays topical. He’s always on time with his music and makes it according to season/mood/and style. It just another song to nod your head to which is just what you need whether you’re sitting in the sun or driving around in your car.

MeCap- What I’ve neglected to post that I’ve dug up!

Hey followers, I haven’t posted some stuff in a while so let’s catch you up on some spectacular music that I have neglected to get to you in quite some time.

G-Eazy has dropped yet another jam, with his trap 60′s style music. The man is a master at the art of making some catchy tracks with killer flow. He also did a feature on a track with DJ Carnage and the song BANGS! So check that out as well.

Another snapback rap favorite, Childish Gambino has been trickling out tracks in anticipation for his upcoming mixtape and recently released the song. It’s another ill song and I can’t say enough good things about this man other then can we please hang out. Am I gushing enough, I don’t think so anyways check this track.

Finally I’m amped to find out that Skizzy Mars released another killer track that’s trippy mayne. It’s got a cool sound and is perfect for us kids with “No Curfew” His flow is so different which makes me like this track so much more than some of the other stuff out right now.

Go HAM on these downloads and don’t forget to keep checking back. I promise I’ll try and keep this stuff up to date. These songs should hold you for a little bit, but the more people you tell to check out the site the more I’m inclined to share the good stuff. Holla atcha boy! #Summergrindin

Gordon Bombay – Unburstable Bubble

This is a compilation album that consists of MOD SUN, Pat Brown, Zachary Garren, JCW, & B Rolla. The aim of this album isn’t so much hip hop but it’s just got a very Summer sound to it and it’s got some positive messages that I think everyone can agree with unless you hate being happy. All procceeds from this album are going to charity so, I recommend buying this. The foundation is called “Charity Water” pass it forward and get 8 solid tracks. You know I hopped on this. #snapbacknation #summerlove

Justin Bieber- Boyfriend (Remix) Ft. 2 Chainz, Mac Miller, Asher Roth

That’s right you read this headline right. It’s a Justin Bieber track with some ill features. I think this beat kicks to begin with. All the Bieber haters can bear the chorus to hear some sweet verses from some of my favorite rappers. 2 Chainz is still growing on me but Asher still does his thing on this track which always gets my head nodding. Enjoy this it’s pretty catchy.

Brando- Big Easy (ft. G-Eazy)

I haven’t quite found any music that matches the style of G-Eazy. He’s got this unusual sound and is always using a track that has this old school vibe to it. Endless Summer was the last project he put out and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone through the mixtape this summer so far. He’ll be at the Van’s Warped Tour this year where I’m hoping to see him perform. Brando is new to me but, you can’t go wrong when G-Eazy is on the track.
